I have not logged on to LJ for MONTHS, but I thought I had successfully captured the RSS feeds of the LJ's I read the most into my Google Reader. Apparently, not so much, because I see that many of you have been posting and I have been missing it all. Hmph.

So, I shall have to continue to log into LJ after all; but in the meantime, I wanted to let anyone who is interested know that I have started a new bloggy experiment. This one will be public, so low on the juicy stuff, but if you are interested in reading about food, seeing pictures of food, and generally seeing what I'm up to, check it out here: http://foodieisthenewforty.blogspot.com

Schlotzsky's has a new sandwich called the Bacon Beefy Smokecheesy.

That has got to be the best worst name for a sandwich ever! I wish I could get paid to write really bad sandwich names like that.

I'm getting a new MacBook Pro for work (which basically means I'm getting a new computer for home, too, since I carry this thing back and forth with me every day). My trusty PowerBook G4 is having some kind of recurring problem where it doesn't see all of its memory, so I routinely am running on 225k of memory, which results in a lot of spinning colorwheel action. The quote to fix it was enough for me to convince the Powers That Be that I need a replacement. Yeah!

Not a second too soon, because this weekend, my power cord seems to have permanently stuck itself to my computer. It is the weirdest thing. Chris thinks maybe it shorted out and spot welded itself to the computer. Still powers the thing, so I guess it's no big deal, but it's sure weird.

I'm getting a new computer! I'm getting a new computer!

...back problems, that is. I did something last Saturday that really f'ed up my lower back. I have NO idea what it was. I don't recall doing anything strenuous, lifting anything heavy, tripping, stepping wrong, nothing. And yet, a week later, it's giving me some serious trouble.

I can only conclude that the universe has decided to remind me that I'm getting older. Sigh.

I'm considering going to a chiropractor, but feel like I should get it checked out first by an M.D. Does anybody have a back doctor that they love? In case I get to that point, does anybody have a chiropractor that they love?

Best worst compliment ever:

Coworker boy who just graduated from college: Where did you get that shirt?
Me: At a garage sale.
Coworker boy: Oh, that's too bad. I was hoping to get one for my mom because I think she'd like it.
